Three works of the Berlin-based digital agency Aperto could convince the jury of the German Design Award in the "excellent communications design" category. At the prestigious award the corporate website of the Volkswagen Group (category "web") and the brand portal of the Sparkasse (category "online publications" ) were honoured as a "winner". The digital presence of the insurance company BKK Mobil Oil received a "special mention".

The new Volkswagen corporate website brings together all the brands, topics and areas of the Volkswagen group. At volkswagen-ag.com, the global player becomes transparent and opens up to the digital dialogue as a company - with cross-brand design, progressive UX and a broad content mix of corporate information, investor & employer relations and thrilling stories. As a social hub, the website also brings together the company's social media channels.
The new digital brand portal of the German Sparkassen & Giroverband is the central point of reference for the implementation of the new corporate design of the bank. It interactively explains the Sparkasse's new design, brand, values and design guidelines and keeps thousands of employees and partners up-to-date with clever templates, tools & services.
The health insurance company BKK Mobil Oil orientates itself towards a young, web-savvy target audience - with its new digital presence bkk-mobil-oil.de and a fresh design, smart tools and content specials. Focus: the digital user experience for both new and existing clients.
The German Design Council, the expert for brand and design in Germany, bestows the German Design Award. Commissioned by the highest authority to represent new developments in the German design industry. Established on the initiative of the German Bundestag (the lower house of German parliament), it supports the industry in all matters consistently aimed at generating an added brand value through design. Since its premiere in 2012, the award for product & communication design has been one of the most recognized awards worldwide. In an elaborate nomination process, experts invite projects to participate, that have already proved their ecxellence in other competitions. Only a few works are classified as "winner" per category; a "special mention" recognizes projects with exeptional aspects.
