Geckle starts as Executive Director Data Science & Analytics / Specialising in the expansion of the IBM iX agency’s advanced analytics capacity

Berlin, 13 February 2018 — On 1 February, Benjamin Geckle joined Aperto as the Executive Director Data Science & Analytics. Having previously worked for airberlin, the highly experienced data expert is coming to reinforce the Berlin digital agency’s 25-strong Strategy & Data Team, under the umbrella of IBM iX. In this capacity, he will be responsible for driving forward future topics such as machine learning, data mining and predictive analytics.

For Aperto, the expansion of the data science and analytics expertise is a commitment to offering clients even greater support in the areas customer experience and business design. In order to stay one step ahead of the competition, it is essential to invest in the continuous development and implementation of data insights and analytical skills within the business processes.

Benjamin Geckle (36) spent the last seven years as the Head of Business Analytics & Operations at airberlin where he was responsible for advancing the company’s digital transformation and data-based business models. With ten years of experience in the areas of data analytics, big data and advanced analytics, Geckle has extensive operative and strategic management experience. As a hands-on team player, he is not only responsible for the technical development but also for ensuring a modern, agile work culture. He was also entrusted with a leading position to develop the Etihad Equity-Alliance airline group’s digital strategy.
