Rollout of a new, creative, data-driven brand communication solution from the Grabarz & Partner’s ex-partner

Aperto is happy to have gained a renowned name: Hartmut Kozok is moving from Hamburg to the IBM iX agency in the capital city. Coming from Grabarz & Partner, he will work together with Daniel Simon, Chief Creative Officer at Aperto, to put a new brand of creative, data-driven brand communication onto the market. In his role as Management Supervisor, he will be building a hybrid implementation model — all under the umbrella of the global agency family IBM iX, which Aperto has been a part of since 2016, and in close collaboration with Aperto subsidiary and creative agency PLANTAGE.

“Everyone talks about it, then there are those who do it: It’s about realising a new, highly efficient solution for CMOs, that consistently connects our data and AI approaches with creativity and strong implementation. I am very proud that we have managed to get Hartmut to work on this project. He understands the symbiosis of creative excellence and technological developments as only few in the market do,” says Daniel Simon, Managing Director and CCO of Aperto/IBM iX in Berlin.

“Ultimately, it is about acceleration: current data as the basis for the briefing and campaign design, excellent creation, a professional production that can be realised on time and within budget, and AI-based media distribution over all the big channels. Everything from one team, all agile and all ROI-optimised. After over 20 years in the industry, I think that is what the market demands. The requisite skill sets are complex and at IBM iX, Aperto and PLANTAGE in Berlin, they are available in unique and overwhelming form,” says Hartmut Kozok, Management Supervisor at Aperto on his decision.

Hartmut Kozok rose to the position of managing director and partner at Grabarz & Partner (Zweite Werbeagentur) and in the past years has been responsible for both integrated and digital accounts. He is the co-founder of the dialogue agency Freihafen, from which Tribal DDB Germany emerged in 2005. His work has received multiple awards including 3x gold in Cannes. He has been a member of various juries (including Cannes, DDP, Spotlight, Leadaward) in addition to being a university lecturer and children’s book author (“Jasper schafft Platz”, nominated for a German children’s and youth book prize). He lives with his wife and two children in Hamburg but finds Berlin wonderful.
