A great achievement for the Berlin-based digital agency Aperto: In a multi-stage public tendering process, the team was able to secure the contract for the relaunch and further development of the website of the Berlin public transport company BVG. As the lead digital agency, Aperto, part of the global IBM iX agency family, will thus become the creative and technical partner for the next few years, taking BVG's digital customer experience to the next level and expanding their most important sales channel for subscriptions.
Together with the city of Berlin, BVG is pursuing the goal of encouraging Berliners to switch to public transport in their commuting behavior. Reaching the customers and enabling this change would only be possible with an attractive offering, a consistent appearance across different channels and easy access to the means of transport offered, among other things. In addition, it is a declared goal of BVG to further expand the digital sales channels and make them fit for the future. The website plays an important role in both goals.
"We are very pleased to be continuing the digital transformation of a Berlin cult brand like BVG. In close agile cooperation with BVG, we want to create a convincing digital experience that will motivate Berliners to switch to public transport." says Stephan Haagen, managing director at Aperto - An IBM Company.
The term of the framework agreement is four years with the option of two extensions for the two years each. The technical implementation of the web relaunch is based on the Headless Content Management System from Magnolia.
