In 2013, Volkswagen teamed up with Aperto for a special mission: Bring the rally back to the people. Four years later we can proudly say: Goal achieved. The transmedia-storytelling-campaign „Rally the World“created awareness and enthusiasm that went far beyond the die-hard rally fans. Our team created an ecosystem featuring all relevant social media channels focused on entertainment, great stories and a community – with over 400 films, more then 10.000 tweets and posts and millions of active and loving fans. The secret behind: content, loved by people and therefore shared. The fans have eagerly awaited the next film, they have said what they like - and what they do not like. And our team listened carefully.
For this work, the joint team of Aperto and PLANTAGE BERLIN was now honored with even two awards at AutoVison. Gold was won in the category „Online Videos, Websiodes, Web-TV“ and Silver in the category „Social Media Campaigns“.
AutoVision is the international festival for corporate films, commercials, TV programs, websites as well as interactive and multimedia productions in the automotive industry. The festival’s prestigious OttoCar trophies are awarded biannually to the most creative works in the industry. The Awards Ceremony traditionally takes place at one of the world’s largest and most important events for passenger cars, the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. AutoVision is an initiative of Filmservice International and it is supported by The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
The 13th edition of AutoVision received more international submissions than ever before, out of which a total number of 59 works were selected to receive one of the coveted OttoCar trophies. The numerous high-quality submissions were judged by an international jury in June and the winners were finally awarded on September 14th, 2017 at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Besides the two Grand Prix awards 19 Gold, 36 Silver and four Black OttoCars were awarded.
