Aperto is reorganizing its local office in Basel as it expands its portfolio. In August, Frank Salathé took on the position of Creative Director and General Manager in the Basel office. He will be responsible for the development of new services and driving the growth of the Swiss office under the umbrella of IBM.
As of April 2016, the digital agency group Aperto, with its head office in Berlin, became a part of IBM Interactive Experience (IBM iX), one of the largest digital agencies worldwide. Aperto has had a presence in Switzerland since 2000 and is now assisting with the strategic expansion of IBM iX in the whole DACH region. Current Swiss clients of Aperto include well-known Swiss brands such as Migros, Baloise, Roche, the Canton of Basel City, Basel University as well as Endress+Hauser.
“I am very happy that we Frank has joined us. His experience in strategic consulting and digital conceptualization, in addition to his expertise in design, methodology and technology, fits perfectly with the type of service we plan to offer our Swiss clients in the future,” says Aperto board member, Kai Grossmann.
Frank Salathé (42) moved from the Swiss agency Maxomedia, where he was the Head of Digital, one of the managing directors and a partner. It was in this role that he built a business unit with a focus on the disciplines of digital design and technology and, with his team, helped both mid- and large-scale Swiss clients with conceptualization and realization of digital products and services.
“The Swiss Aperto team knows what Swissness is, and which challenges Swiss brands are facing now and in the future. I would like to strengthen this footprint, and support Swiss organisations with services such as user-centred design, usability engineering and design thinking,” says Frank Salathé, General Manager of Aperto in Switzerland. “For this, our team will have to grow, and we are seeking colleagues who are passionate about helping us drive innovative ideas and technologies.”
The core expertise of the Basel office is design, conceptualization, consulting and technology. For larger projects, the local team works closely together with their Berlin counterparts, making use of their technical expertise. As part of IBM iX, the office’s portfolio is expanded by access to pioneering services such as data analytics, cognitive computing and marketing automation to offer clients even better services in the area of customer experience.
